Local Newspaper Name Choice

I looked at many local newspapers in my area to get an idea for a name for my own, wanting to be conventional to other local newspapers, but unique so it will stand out. I knew that I wanted "Southend" in the title, so it was very clear that it was a local newspaper.

I also looked at international and national papers, just so I could see conventions of newspaper names as a whole. After doing this I came up with a few different names:

1. Southend Times

2. Southend-on-News

3. Southend Prophet

4. The Southend Herald

I decided to make a questionnaire for 10 people to do, where they would pick their favourite local newspaper names out of the options above. The results were as follows:



From this I found that "Southend Prophet" was the most liked name, so I decided to use it for my local newspaper name.
