"Create the first two pages of a new local newspaper, together with:
- a poster for the newspaper
- two hyperlinked pages from the paper's website."
I have decided to use this idea of creating a new local newspaper aimed around my own area of Southend-on-Sea. This newspaper will be a pastiche of existing local newspapers in my area, which will report on local news in the area.
I will research these existing papers to gain a fuller idea of how to design my own newspaper and also to gain idea of how to set out the components of the paper. I will also recognise what content that I would need to include to produce a pastiche of an existing paper.
I could collect my research from many sources, such as the papers themselves, the paper's websites and also advertisements that advertise the paper.
After fully collecting my research, I will move on to sketching my own ideas and deigns for my group's newspaper. I will evaluate each idea intently, focusing on critiquing certain features to see which work best. Then after finding the best design I can start designing the first draft for my newspaper.
Each draft of my newspaper design will be improved and tweaked until I am satisfied with my product and it fits all the criteria that it is meant to. This will be my final product.
After this, I will then start to focus more so on research for newspaper's web pages before I start designing my own with sketches and labels. After this process I will then evaluate each of designs, just like I will with my newspaper and pick the best design, but perhaps tweaking it with bits of the other designs to get the most appropriate design. This will be my final product.
I will then go through the same process for my newspaper poster advertisement, by researching existing poster ads and picking out how to set my own out by making a pastiche of them, then designing my before evaluating all of them and sticking with a final design. This will be my final product.
Once I have designed all my final products, I will finally evaluate them, and say what I did well, what I could improve if I were to do it again and what I did badly.
